Piranhas registration has begun!

Greetings!

I am happy to provide the link to the Glenwood Park Piranhas swim team. https://glenwoodparkpiranhas.swimtopia.com/

Starting now: Registration wave 1, pool members.

By April 1: Registration wave 2, nonmembers.

Here are a few more things you may want to know (in addition to the news I shared earlier today):

- The Swimtopia site is brand new. There are still incomplete areas and it will be updated as we go.

- Past emails will be available in the News section of the website (for those just joining these communications).

- The ASA fees are paid as part of your registration (totalling $37.50). These go up on April 16, so be sure to register by then to avoid the late fee!

- Notify me if you see errors. The site was loaded with instructional content and I tried to make sure I edited it all, but if not, or if there are typos, let me know.

- The Facebook page is a great resource for team information and connecting with other parents. If you use Facebook, please join the group if you join the team. https://www.facebook.com/groups/947445465276652

- Big shout out to Amber Chellis-Omedo, Dana Dojnik, and Malessa Paez for joining the Parent Committee! Amber will be handling swim meet ribbons, Dana will be heading up sponsorship and t-shirts, and Malessa will be organizing suit fittings and the suits ordered. We still need parents to join us! There are a number of tasks and roles to be played. Click here to read the Parent Committee roles.

- Speaking of gear, families provide practice gear and the team suit for meets. The team will provide a personalized cap (we're ordering these around May 1). There's a link on the Swimtopia site to take you to Swim Outlet, which is a decent source for suits and goggles. I linked some simple, affordable suits and goggles on our Team Store. The team uniform is a black racerback suit for girls and black jammer for boys printed with the Piranhas logo. Malessa Paez will organize fittings in mid-April. If this is your first time with a swim team, I recommend getting your child fitted to ensure the suit you order will work for your child's body! I will also rally families on the Facebook page to see if suit exchanges/ hand-me-downs/ resales of suits are possible. I have a feeling there are a few outgrown suits in people's storage they might like to exchange or resell.

- Our head coach, Nathan Jones, is working on putting together his coaching staff. We'll provide a thorough introduction to the staff in mid-April.

I think that's all for now.

Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

~Martha
