Team Policies
- Practice groups: Practice groups are organized by age group: 5-6; 7-10; 11-up. The pool board has agreed to allot 4 lanes for our practices. Swimmers will practice in age and skill-based groups to develop their skill and endurance. Coaches are responsible for decisions about practice lanes and drills.
- Pool access: Swimmers should arrive on time to ensure they get the full advantage of the practice. Glenwood Park pool members will use key fobs for entrance and will allow team members and their caregivers access. Volunteers will be available for the first 10 minutes to allow non-member access. Non-members who are late will be able to call parent volunteers to gain access if they are late; however, we cannot guarantee this as people's schedules vary. Arriving on time is the best way to ensure all swimmers can get in.
- Supervision: No lifeguard is on duty at the Glenwood Park Pool. Parents must supervise any children who are not practicing at all times. Children are permitted in practice lanes only during their practice times. Use of the pool for recreation during swim team practice requires that a parent be present.
- Pool membership: Our team consists of both pool members and nonmembers. those who are not pool members must limit their use of the pool to their designated practices. Any nonmember who wishes to remain at the pool may do so with a member who signs in nonmembers as guests. This is a pool board policy and is nonnegotiable. It is our expectation that the Glenwood Park Piranhas will maintain excellent relations with pool members and their families.
- Coaches: We must all work together to ensure coaches can keep their eyes and ears on their practice groups at all times. Please refrain from asking questions or conversing with coaches during practice.
- Weather: Swimmers will practice in light rain, but the pool closes for 30 minutes if there is thunder or lightening in the vicinity. Practices may be cancelled due to intermittent thunder/lightning. Parents should check email and Facebook if it looks like inclement weather to see if practice is on.
- Sportsmanship: Swimmers are expected to adhere to coaches rules and practice good sportsmanship at all practices and at swim meets.

Parking: Parking spaces for condo residents are clearly marked and must not be used unless you are a condo resident. A small number of spaces are marked for pool members. Do not use these parking spaces if you do not live in the condo or you are not a pool member. Park on Glenwood Park Drive (encircling the green space). There is a very handy walkway to the pool right around 956 Glenwood Park Drive (see image below).
