Please note when meet sign-up closes

Please go into Swimtopia and declare your swimmers for any meets they will attend. If you know you will be out of town, please declare that your swimmer WILL NOT attend. Please do not delay! Also, please pay close attention to the deadlines for meet #5 (Monday meet) and the GT Championship. We haven't posted sign-up deadlines yet, but they will be different from our first 4 meets. Most of our regular season meets close the Friday before the meet at 5pm. If you need instructions please search your inbox or the Facebook page for Swim Meet 101.

Heat Sheets and Lane Writers will be sent to the parents as soon as available.

Location

Avondale Swim and Tennis Club is located at51 Dartmouth Avenue. Dartmouth Ave is ONE WAY in front of the pool. There will be a barricade with a Road Closed sign to indicate this. Please ask your parents to respect this as it is put in place for the safety of pedestrians, many of them children, who are walking in the area.

Parking

Our small ASTC pool parking lot will be closed for parking. We reserve these limited spaces for coaches, our concessions team, and the ASA official. We should also have space for any handicap needs as well. The parking lot can also be used for drop offs and unloading. Parents can park throughout the neighborhood but we ask that they be considerate of residents and not block driveways. Please be mindful of yellow paint on the curbs; cars that overlap with yellow paint risk being ticketed.

Golf Carts

Please be mindful that golf carts are popular in Avondale Estates. Golf carts follow local traffic laws and should be treated as cars so please do not try to pass, tailgate, or otherwise endanger the golf cart riders.

Concessions

Plan to eat dinner with us! We will have concessions running with freshly grilled hot dogs, Avondale Pizza Cafe pizza slices, Raging Burrito burritos, drinks, candy, and more. Payments may be made with CASH ONLY. Currently, our water bottle refilling stations are not operating. Please ask your team to plan accordingly. Hopefully they will be up and running by Tuesday. Please note that we recycle cans and plastic bottles near the front entrance/sandbox area.

Bullpen

Our team's bullpen area will be set up on the basketball court and in the pavilion. The area you have is somewhat shaded by trees. However, feel free to bring a tent or two if you have some and want further shade/rain protection. You may also want to bring some camping chairs as the seating is limited in that area.

Spectator Viewing

There will be lounge chairs set up as benches and some chairs along the near side of the pool for spectators inside the gated pool area. Otherwise we have a large grassy area and picnic table area for other spectators outside of the pool area. The picnic area has several tables with attached benches. Please tell your parents to bring tailgate chairs in case the provided seating is taken. No spectators will be allowed on the far side of the pool because that is the Tidal Wave team's bullpen area. The shallow pool and "mushroom" kiddie pool will be closed and cannot be used for spectators.

Rain Plan

In the event of severe weather, we will seek shelter in the bathroom area, concessions area (trophy room), and tennis pavilion. We prefer to finish the meet with a delay, if possible. Rescheduling is difficult for everyone, so let's try to complete the meet that night.

Warm Ups

Our team will warm up from 5:30-5:50. We will start the meet at 6:00.

Pool

The pool is a 6 lane pool and it is yards. There are diving blocks at the deep end for the start. The short end of the pool is approximately 5 feet, the deep end is approximately 11 feet deep.

Timers

The timers meeting for both shifts will begin at 5:45 at the computer tent for instructions. Shift 1 ends after event #38.

Please remember to tidy up the seating and bullpen areas before you leave.
