April 4 Update

Please see below the practice schedule. Thank you for your patience as we have been working to set the schedule up!

A note on ASA fees: these fees are calculated into the total. There is no separate site or payment window you need to use to pay these. I heard from a few parents who weren't sure about that. I think my previous message about the ASA fee increases must have created some confusion! Reach out if you have any remaining questions about these fees.

Practice Information (**CRITICAL- PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY**)

Practice groups: Please note your child’s practice group and plan accordingly. The pool board has agreed to allot 4 lanes for our practices, with the 4th lane to be made available for a member adult who wishes to swim laps. That means swimmers will be practicing in age groups to spread out and complete age-appropriate drills to develop their skill and endurance.

Pool access: Glenwood Park pool members will use key fobs for entrance. If you are new to our pool, it is important to know that there is only one entrance, and it requires a fob to get in. If you don’t have one, you will need to time your entrance to catch the wave at the beginning of practice or else have someone inside let you in.

We will be asking for volunteers to help with practice admission. The signup will be sent out the week before practice begins. If you intend to hang out at the pool during your child’s practice, please consider offering your time for this very easy, but very critical role! Provided we all commit to helping one another, access should not be a problem.

Please note that we will do our best to manage this as parents/volunteers so that our coaches can keep their eyes on the swimmers at all times.

Practice expectations: As the team practices, 2 lanes will be available for members and their kids. It is our plan to maintain excellent relations with pool members and their families. Swim team kids should set a good example by entering the practice area only when it is their turn to practice. Non-member families must leave the pool when their practices are over. Parents supervising multiple kids in different practice groups must supervise their children who are not practicing at all times. As with pool access, we must help supervise our kids outside of practice times, so that our coaches can keep their eyes and coach the swimmers.

Parking: Parking spaces for condo residents are clearly marked and must not be used unless you are a condo resident. A small number of spaces are marked for pool members. Parking for swim team is available on Glenwood Park Drive (encircling the green space) and there is a very handy walkway to the pool right around 956 Glenwood Park Drive (see image below). Consider walking or biking to the pool if you are able.
