April 14 Update

We are two and half weeks away from the start of the season, and things are moving along!

1) Registration. If you have not yet registered your swimmer, we encourage you to do so now. The registration fee goes up on April 16 at 12:01 AM. This is due to a scheduled increase in the ASA League Fee. This fee increase will that members will pay $235.00 and nonmembers $285.00. (If you are receiving these messages and you do not intend to register, let me know and I can take you off this list.)

2) Suit fittings next week. We have scheduled our suit fittings! It turns out there will be workers at the pool, so instead of risking interrupting the work they need to do to get the pool ready, we will do the fittings at Martha Donovan and Kim Shashy's house located at 700 United Ave. SE, top floor, Atlanta 30312. This is on the east side of Grant Park, one block from the Zoo and one mile from the pool. Park on either United or Waldo (the house is on the corner). The dates and times are as follows: Tuesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 21 from 5-6 PM and Saturday, April 23 from 9-10 AM. Please come at any time during the hour of your choice. The house has large common areas and plenty of room for families to have privacy. We will also designate boys' areas and girls' areas. Our advice for parents of girls- it may be easiest and fastest if our girl swimmers can try on the team suits over their own swimsuit. Boys can do this as well if they wish, especially if your boys have jammer style suits.

3) Volunteers are needed to help with suit fittings. In order to help everyone and avoid long lines, we need to have 2-3 volunteers to help at each session. If you can give your time for one of the fitting sessions (Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday), the fittings will run more smoothly! Email Malessa and Martha to let us know which day you can help.

4) Ordering details for team suits. You will order team suits through Capital Swim. The details will be provided on an order form for you at the fitting. For those who cannot make the fitting sessions, Martha will send out the ordering details and a fit guide in advance of the ordering deadline. If you are new to swim team, please note: competition suits are very fitted (kids might say "they're too tight!"). Until you get to know how your swimmer actually fits into one of these suits, we strongly recommend that if you can come get fitted, please come! Let us know what questions you have! ~Malessa Paez (404-372-6176) and Martha Donovan (404-643-7002)
