SWIM MEET #1 Sign-up is ready- PLEASE READ THROUGH THE ENTIRE MESSAGE
Signup for the 1st meet is now open!
IF YOUR SWIMMER WILL PARTICIPATE IN SWIM MEETS, YOU MUST COMMIT THEM TO THE MEET ONLINE!
How to sign up
- First, knowing that a child will NOT be there is just as important as knowing that they will. So please follow the steps either way.
- Log in to glenwoodparkpiranhas.swimtopia.com using your swimtopia user id and password (if you do not have these, set them up so you can access the swim meet sign up!)
- Go to the Meets and Events tab.
- Click Signup Calendar
- The only meet open so far is this one: 2022 GP Piranhas at Pangborn Piranhas(Yep, it’s Piranhas vs. Piranhas!)
- First, click the green Meet Entry button.
- Your child will be “undeclared.” Click Edit. Choose “attending this meet” or “not attending this meet.” Click Save.
- Notes: if you have time constraints or unique requests, please put them in the notes.
NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT PART: THE VOLUNTEER CALL!
- IF YOUR SWIMMER IS ENTERED IN THE MEET, after you register your swimmer, click the green Job Signup button. Choose a job and you will help make the meet… well… happen. Your presence and your help actually make the meets happen. And don’t worry! You will be able to watch it all. :)
- SEE ATTACHED PDF WITH JOB DESCRIPTIONS. Make new friends, meet new people, and enjoy the camaraderie with other Piranhas volunteers.
- Upon arrival the swim meet, you will check in with the Team Rep. The Team Rep will provide an overview of the volunteer duties and let you know where your station is located.
We can’t emphasize enough how necessary your participation is, and truly- even if you’ve never done it before, you’ll learn fast!!
FAQ
- Coaches determine each swimmer’s races. You can expect that each swimmer will do two individual events and two relays. The only exceptions allowed are when there is a very small number of swimmers in an age group. This is typically the case only with our older groups (i.e. 15 and up).
- The registration will close on May 27! We will send a reminder when the deadline is getting close.
- Each week, the deadline for the following meet will be on Friday.
- Remember! The first four swim meets are on Tuesdays. The fifth is on a Monday. Mark your calendars!
Finally, a special request if your child swims year-round, on a high school team, or swam elsewhere last summer!
If your children swim year-round, high school, or if they were on another team last summer and you have times from swim meets, please help us out! We have no valid swimmer times since we were on hold for two years. If you can provide us with some times, send us your swimmers’ names and a list of their events with best times. (We only need 25s, 50s, and 100 IM). THANKS!
