GP Piranas Meet Location, Housekeeping items, Heat Sheets &
June 13th
Hi all - Here are a few housekeeping items along with heat sheet, check-in sheet for tomorrow's meet.
LOCATION:
Tri-Meet with Gators/Tidal Waves at Ebster Park Pool:
404 W. Trinity Pl (Located on Atlanta Ave. and West Trinity Place, behind the Police Dept.)
PARKING:
Parking will be tricky. You can park along the street, right side only. You can also park at Saint Thomas Moore Church down the street. Both sides of the street on Trinity and the parking lot across the street are free after 6:00 PM.
ARRIVAL:
Please try to arrive at the pool location by 5 PM for team prep work and warmups. Kids will be sitting right outside the pool area on the other side of the fence. We will have at least two tents set up, but if you have an extra portable tent, our swimmers would surely appreciate it! An extra picnic blanket for kids to sit on will be great, too, since the grass might be buggy. The meet will start at 6 PM and the final heats will end around 9:30.
PARENTS SEATING:
Please bring chairs and tents for yourselves - the pool deck will be crowded since this is a three-way meet. There is very little shade and chairs at the pool.
CONCESSIONS:
There are concessions and they take cash and Venmo. They will serve burritos, pizza, fruit and candy. Please plan accordingly and suggest bringing ice and ice packs for yourselves and swimmers as it will be HOT. There is also a Chic-fil-a not too far from the meet.
WHAT TO BRING:
For your swimmers: Racing suits*, goggles, swim cap, at least two towels and a change of clothes. The swimmers should have 2 ICY cold water bottles - you may even want to freeze one to keep for later.

* If you could not pick up your suits/caps yet - I (Dana) will have them at the meet at 5 pm
For you and your swimmer: Sunscreen/ Bug Repellent: It will be a sunny day and sunset is not until after 8 PM, so sunscreen is recommended. If you have sweet skin, load up on bug repellent for you and your swimmer(s). As sunset happens, I'm sure mosquitos will come out for dinner.BULLPEN:
When we arrive tomorrow, we will verify where they want us. Bull Pen parents: We will group our swimmers exactly the way we did last week, in one general area, with kids separated by age group. Glenwood lanes 6 and 8.
SWIMMERS:
Swimmers will be seated together by age groups (6&u boys/girls, 8&U boys/girls, 10&U boys/girls etc.). This will help with organization and help us/Bullpen Coordinators find your swimmers when it is time to race.
*Note* When your swimmers are not racing, please help the coaching staff keep your kids in their designated area, not sitting with you and not running around in the pool area, playing in the pool or just missing:*
VOLUNTEERS:
Out of the 28 slots we had open - 18 are being covered by our amazing Moms and two fabulous Dads. Where are the rest of the Dad's at?!? - yes, I went there! There are ten slots open that we need help with for the meet to run smoothly. Since Martha is out of town and this is my first time "trying" to help - it would be greatly appreciated if anyone who has volunteered in the past and knows what to do - please lend a hand! Volunteers are what make the meets happen and without your help, they cannot and will not run successfully. OPEN POSITIONS - sign up quickly to grab the easy job!
WHAT TO DO:
Stay cool, hydrated and cheer your swimmer in lanes 6 or 8 and teammates on!
