Meet #5- Housekeeping Items

MEET # 5 IS JUST A FEW HOURS AWAY!

Here are a few housekeeping items.

Please try to arrive at pool location by 5pm for team prep work and warmups. Meet will start at 6pm.

Please plan to stay for the final relays as well.

PLEASE PLAN ROUTES ACCORDINGLY FOR TRAFFIC!

ADDRESS:

Westhampton/ Embry Hills Electric Rays

3131 Alton Road, Atlanta, GA 30341

What to bring: For your swimmers: (suit, goggles, at least 2 towels) and change of clothes. Your swimmer will be getting wet and drying off frequently. Clothes are good to have around to stay warm/dry. There is a slight chance of rain and a predicted temp of a little over 80. Not bad!

What to wear: Swimmers wear their racing suits and their white swim caps to represent Piranhas Pride.

Home Team/Home Pool Specifics

Parking: Park in available spaces in the pool parking lot. If that fills up there is a church right across the street that allows swim parking. The host team has signs up directing where to park.

Food: The host team will be selling CFA sandwiches and hotdogs, along w/ chips, drinks, other miscellaneous items.

Bullpen/ Spectator seating: The Piranhas bullpen is in the covered area directly behind the blocks (deep end of the pool). Parents can sit wherever you like; however, the head coach said parents typically sit along the fence on the far side of the pool from the entrance. The pool has deck and lounge chairs but they encourage parents to bring their own chairs so everyone is guaranteed a seat.

Timers: This is a 5-lane pool, so we will use 2-3 lanes per heat. We could use a few additional timers- please sign up if you have not already.

Volunteers: We still need the following positions filled. See the positions in bold and look at those first. We really need your help to make sure we can run this meet!

Bull Pen Boys 11-12 (all shifts)

Bull Pen Boys  9-10 (second shift)

Bull Pen Girls 11-12 (first shift)

Deck Manager (second shift)

Computer Worker (both shifts)

Master Recorder (BOTH shifts- critical!!)

Place judge (second shift- critical!!)

Seating: Bring chairs for swimmers and spectators.

Bull Pen: There should be ample deck space for the kids' bull pens to be under your tents.

Swimmers: Your swimmers will be seated together by age groups (6&u boys/girls, 8&U boys/girls 10&U boys/girls etc.). This will help with organization and help us/Bullpen Coordinators find your swimmers when it is time to race.

*Note* When your swimmers are not racing please help coaching staff keep your kids in their designated area and not running around in the pool area, playing in the pool or just missing:*

Sunscreen/ Bug Repellent: Bring sunscreen and bug repellent!

HOW Tos: Please see https://glenwoodparkpiranhas.swimtopia.com/swim-meet-101 if this is your first meet. We would appreciate your help with marking up swimmers as they arrive at 5 PM. The link above describes how to do this. Bring a black or dark blue Sharpie! *NOTE* FEEL FREE TO ASK YOUR COACHES FOR HELP. We want to help you learn the process as well as the swimmers.

What to do: Cheer your swimmer and teammates on to a VICTORY!

If you have any questions, concerns or you are running late please email me at [email protected].

Thanks,

Coach Nate & YOUR GWP Piranhas Coaching Staff
