Happy Friday Piranhas!

Here are some brief announcements before a longer update tomorrow.

Weekend practices will be held!

Saturday, May 27, 8:30-9:30 AM ages 11 and up; 9:30-10:15 AM 10 and under

Monday, May 29, 9:00-10:00 AM ages 11 and up; 10:00-10:45 AM 10 and under

Caps and suit orders have arrived! I will be at both practices to distribute them.

If you can't come to either practice, but you are signed up for the meet, I will bring your suits and caps to the pool Tuesday evening.

Sign up for the first meet is still open! See below for instructions on how to declare your swimmer(s).

Greetings Piranhas parents,

Guess what? It’s time to sign up for our first meet on May 30, 2023.

Read the instructions for how to sign in and let us know if you can/can’t come.

STEP ONE: How to sign up (or let us know you’re not coming)

• Log in to glenwoodparkpiranhas.swimtopia.com using your swimtopia user id and password.
• Go to the Meets and Events tab.
• Click Signup Calendar.
• The only meet open so far is this one: 2022 GP Piranhas at Morehouse Tiger Sharks.
• Click the green Meet Entry button.
• Your child will be “undeclared.” Click Edit. Choose “attending this meet” or “not attending this meet.” Click Save.
• Notes: if you have time constraints or other requests, please put them in the notes.

STEP TWO IF YOUR SWIMMER IS ENTERED IN THE MEET: Click the green Job Signup button. Choose a job and you will help make the event great. Don’t worry if you‘ve never volunteered at a meet before, there are plenty of people to help you learn!

SEE ATTACHED PDF WITH JOB DESCRIPTIONS. We need all hands on deck to make it run smoothly. We want everyone to make a personal commitment to volunteer for at least two meets during the season.

For volunteers

• Upon arrival at the swim meet, you will check in with the Team Rep. The Team Rep will provide an overview of the volunteer duties and let you know where your station is located.

Swimmers and families FAQ

• Meet arrival is 5 PM. Meet begins at 6 PM. The address of meet #1 is 155 Walnut St SW, Atlanta, GA 30314.
• Coaches determine each swimmer’s races. Swimmers ages 5-6 will swim 2 individual events and 1 relay. Swimmers 7 and up will do two individual events and two relays. There are some exceptions where kids will swim more than this, but this typically happens only in the older age groups.
• Meet registration closes on May 27! We will send a reminder when the deadline is getting close.
• Each week, the deadline for the following meet will be on Saturday after practice (12 PM)..
• The first four swim meets are on Tuesdays. The fifth is on a Monday. Mark your calendars
