Tuesday, June 13 at Briarmoor Manor
Good afternoon Piranha Families,
Swim meet #3 is just a few days away! Please complete sign ups for swimmers and jobs right away so coach can set up our entries and even get the heat sheet up early this week!
Note: last week my job went into a compressed work week for the summer. I'm working 4 days/ 10 hours a day, and it may be 6 PM before I can arrive at the pool Tuesday. You're in good hands with other parents! See below. :)
Where: 2682 Caladium Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30345. Parking is on Caladium Dr.
Weather: Currently predicted high of 77F, slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Everyone please help me keep hopes up that we'll have clear skies.
Arrive: 5 PM
Swimmer check-in: Malessa Paez
Markup: Find a coach or parent helper for markup if needed.
Bullpens: Our swimmer's bullpen area is paved with blacktop. This is a good night for your old blankets for kids to sit on between swims!
Volunteer check-in: Locate Kim Knapp for volunteer check-in
Job requirements: The host team has asked us to provide 6 timers for each shift, a finishing judge, a computer operator, and a deck manager. Plus, as many bullpen parents you need. Timer meeting at 5:45pm (see Kim Knapp to find this meeting).
We are currently very short on deck volunteers. We have 4 timers (of 12), no finish judges (of 2), no computer people (of 2). Help please!!!
Here are some more details from the host team:
- We will have a water jug and cups available in your bullpen.
- A small seating section will be reserved for the visiting team along lane 6 of the pool. Please have your parents bring chairs. We will ask our parents to leave some tables available for your parents as well.
- The concession stand will offer hamburgers from Sprig Restaurant, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, hot dogs, snacks, and beverages. Small-denomination cash and venmo will be accepted.
- In the event of a storm, families can seek shelter under a small pavilion next to our “baby pool”, our entryway, or in their vehicles.
Alright, that's all for now! Get your entries and job signups in!
Calling all timers, finish judges, and computer operators!!!!
Let me know what your questions are... LIKE THIS:
What's a finish judge?
SO GLAD YOU ASKED! A finish judge determines the order of finish for each race as a backup system for the timers to make sure the race finishes are recorded fairly. We have one from each team at all times watching the races.
Oh really, that sounds awesome.
Yep, that's how we make sure no one cheats!
Count me in!
Cheers,
Martha (404-643-7002)
