PLEASE READ: ALL THINGS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP MEET TOMORROW

Good Morning Parents, Swimmers and Coaches,

Here are all the details you need for tomorrow’s championship!

Please read everything and save my number for questions 404-643-7002. Please identify yourself if you text me so I can get oriented to who you are!

1. Final Reminder on Payment. If you have not paid prior to the start of the meet your swimmer will not be allowed to swim.

Venmo: @MarthaDonovan

CashApp: $marthakdonovan

Zelle: [email protected]

2. Parking at Tech:

Prepaid parking will be available in the W10 parking deck that is adjacent to the CRC (POOL). To park in this deck, you must prebuy a parking pass, you cannot pay at the gate. To prepurchase parking please visithttps://gatech.parkmobile.io/events. Parking costs will be between $12-15. Overflow parking for W10 and any day of parking for those who did not prepay is located at the W23 lot at 905 State St. These are relatively short walks from the pool. A map of the area can be found atGeorgia Tech General Parking Map andASA Parking Diagram and Map Please plan accordingly.

Please don’t park anywhere else, unless you want your car ticketed, booted or towed. Due to construction around campus please try to carpool to alleviate congestion. Teams, please be advised that barring a miracle, traffic is still bad in Atlanta. Please advise your swimmers and families to build in a little extra time to account for any delays.

If you do not prepay for parking you will most likely park very far away and walk a few miles and/or Rideshare to the pool.

3. Arrival and warmups:

ASA has designated swimmer entry times into the facility. We are to enter as ONE GROUP at 2:50 PM. This will give us only 30 minutes to settle the kids into their area (On Deck Bleachers Section L All Rows) and warm up in the girls pool, lanes 1-4, precisely at 3:35 PM. Our warm up is 3:35-3:50 at which point the swimmers will leave the pool! This won't be flexible.

- Let's assume everything will work out out perfectly for all our schedules, traffic, your other kids, etc. Let's all arrive outside the FRONT entrance to the Campus Recreation Center on Ferst Drive at 2:30 PM. This will give us 20 minutes to mark up all the swimmers with their races for the day. At 2:50, we will all go in together. Please arrive with swim suits ON if possible!!

- Next, let's assume there will be snags in this plan. (Martha Donovan) SAVE MY NUMBER 404-643-7002. If your kids will be late, text me. When you arrive, either me or one of the coaches will come get you at the door (because ASA stated that team reps must escort latecomers in).

4. Seating for swimmers:

Glenwood Park will sit in Bleacher L all rows. (See attached document). Parents who are not doing jobs must find spectator seating. The only way you can get on the deck is to have a deck pass for a job. THERE ARE NO PARENTS ON DECK IF YOU ARE NOT VOLUNTEERING. Without credential you will not be allowed down stairs. NO Exceptions.

5. Pools:

Boys will compete in pool closest to the scoring board and the Girls will compete in the pool closest to the diving well. Parents sit in the bleachers accordingly to your swimmer so you can get a good view of their swim. (See attached document).

6. Required Jobs:

Each team is assigned to specific jobs for the meet. We must provide 1 crowd control worker, 1 award person (apply labels during the meet), 1 water person, and 1 runner. We are splitting these jobs into two shifts so that no one is working one job the whole meet. Martha will reach out separately to those who signed up to volunteer (and those who did not- lol).

Runners - (Report to the timing and scoring room no later than 20 minutes before the start of your session) They will be stationed by the Hy Tek operator and will be responsible for posting results on the deck and upstairs, taking award labels to the awards room, and occasionally getting backup times for the timing operator. Perfect for the person seeking 5 dots on their Fitbit. If you are being relieved by someone from your team during the meet, please return upstairs to your team area and give your deck credential to your relief worker and tell them where to go and what to do.

Awards - (Report to the timing and scoring room at the start of your session) Stationed in the awards area ON the deck, they peel and stick labels on awards and put them in team boxes. They are not tied to that awards area for the entire session and have the ability to watch their kids swim. If you are being relieved by someone from your team during the meet, please return upstairs to your team area and give your deck credential to your relief worker and tell them where to go and what to do. Drink Workers -(Report to the timing and scoring room at the end of the medley relays) Not as exciting or fun as it sounds, sorry this is not a literal description. They take water to timers and meet officials who are tied to their positions. They will occasionally help re-stock the coolers of water. If you are being relieved by someone from your team during the meet, please return upstairs to your team area and give your deck credential to your relief worker and tell them where to go and what to do. Crowd Control Workers - (Report to the timing and scoring room no later than 30 minutes before the start of your session) They help keep an eye on the deck and make sure that unauthorized folks are not going into areas where they don't belong. And no, they don't get a badge and a taser, it just wasn't in the budget for this year. If you are being relieved by someone from your team during the meet, please return upstairs to your team area and give your deck credential to your relief worker and tell them where to go and what to do.

7. Additional jobs:

We have deck passes for Relay helpers and Bullpen Parent helpers. The relay helpers will make sure the coaches have what they need as far as relay set-ups. Relay helpers will exit deck after relays and enjoy rest of the meet in the stands.. The Bullpen parent helpers will stay with the kids in Bleacher L during the meet. It helps if we can post your phone numbers to make sure parents have a way to send messages to kids.

8. Order of Events:

Just a quick reminder, during our championship we swim a different order of events than your regular dual meets. The order is as follows: Order of events for ASA Championship
  1. 6 & Under Free Relays - All 6 & Unders should go to the bullpen as soon as they are done swimming their relays to get lined up for their freestyle swim.
  2. All Medley Relays
  3. 6& Under 25 Free - All 6 & Unders swimming the backstroke should go to the bullpen as soon as they are done swimming freestyle to get lined up for their backstroke swim.
  4. All Remaining Freestyle Relay Events
  5. 6 & Under Backstroke - After this event the 6 & Unders are done swimming.
  6. All Remaining individual events (Short Free, Long Free, Back, IM, Breast, Fly)
The one thing that does remain intact are the actual event numbers used in a regular ASA meet. So event 13 (6 and under girls free) will be followed by event 77 (7-8 girls 100 Free Relay) based on the info above.

9. Heat sheet/ athlete entries. Attached. Please use athlete entries sheet to mark your swimmers before the meet. The heat sheet is many pages. But it is divided into girls events and boys events and there are a lot of extraneous ad pages. There will not be printed copies available. If you wish to have a hard copy, print it before you come. Save paper by not printing the ads.

Please reply with your job preferences, let me know what questions you have, and THANK YOU for sticking with us till the end!

~Martha
