Jobs are open for all meets

Good morning!

All jobs for our swim meets are available for the whole season. Go ahead and sign up for your favorite spots!

I was thrilled to see so many of you already signed up for various jobs for the first meet, both new and returning parents.

All the volunteer jobs are important and necessary, but here are some of the most critical:

Ages 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 bullpen parents. We need full coverage of these three groups, both boys and girls, for all meets. They are our largest groups and they are tons of fun, and it's not hard to keep up with them... if there are enough adults to do so. If there are not enough adults to help, I'm not going to lie, organizing these age groups for their swims is very, very difficult.

Here's my story: My son started swimming with Coach Nate and the Piranhas when he was 8. I volunteered for the 7-8 boys bullpen for all the meets we attended that year and the next 2 years. I learned this lesson that summer, 2017. Little kids need a lot of help to get where they need to be on a pool deck. When they get there, and they put their all in to their races, it's amazing!

Ok, enough reminiscing... We also must have:

Place judges and timers. Timers are critical because our meet scores are based on swim times! Place judges assess the order of finish for each race. Our place judge works with the other team's judge to be sure we agree on the order in which each swimmer touches the wall for each race. Super important when scoring a close meet!

Our Piranhas won 4 out of 5 meets last year! This is due to our swimmers working really hard and parents supporting their efforts through volunteering to run the meets. We are all on the team together! We can do it again this year with everyone's help.

Let me know what your questions are.
