final weeks and parking
Greetings Piranhas Parents,
We are heading into our last 2 weeks (if you can believe that)! We have practice the following days:
Thursday, June 13 (today)
Saturday, June 15
Monday, June 17
(Swim meet @Malo Aquatics June 18)
Wednesday, June 19
Thursday, June 20
Saturday, June 22
Our final dual meet is Monday, June 24 @ Leslie Beach.
The league championship is at Georgia Tech on Thursday, June 27 (more on that soon).
The final practice is Wednesday, June 26. This will be strongly recommended for swimmers participating in the championship and optional for all others.
That means we have just 7 more practices at the Glenwood Park pool this season.
Let’s make them the best 7 practices, in every way, including this one:
The Glenwood Park Pool board and condo residents are frustrated by the parking violations. People are parking in condo spaces and condo residents do not have their spots. The spots are clearly marked and it’s never been meant to seem negotiable. Pool members and swim team drivers are never authorized to park in condo spots, even just to run in and pick up a swimmer.
I have shared this rule several times in the past, but parking is still emerging as a big issue for the residents. I absolutely recognize that it might not be always caused by the swim team, but a condo resident reported that a swim team parent told him “I am just parking here for a minute while I go pick up my swimmer.” We can’t do this! We need to make a steadfast commitment as a team to adhere to this rule. As I have also shared several times, our team’s residence at this pool is based on a relationship of good faith between the pool and the team. It’s completely on us to nurture that relationship.
Thanks to everyone for doing their part to keep this relationship great!
More soon- about our last swim meets and a few other announcements. 🙂
~Martha
