Sign up for the last (dual) swim meet of the year!
Greetings Piranhas Parents,
Signup for Swim meet 5 at Leslie Beach Club is open until today, June 22, at 10:00 PM! (Note: if you signed up earlier and your plans have changed, please confirm or edit your selections).
The pool address is 2539 Leslie Dr. NE; Atlanta, GA 30345. This will be our 1st time swimming with this team. We have not yet received a message from their team rep, but you can look at pictures here https://lesliebeachclub.wildapricot.org/. It appears to be a 6-lane pool. Our team parent Roxy Drew grew up swimming for this team!
This is the season’s last dual meet. After this, there is the party at the Grant Park Gateway Tuesday evening, practice on Wednesday (strongly recommended for our championship swimmers and optional for everyone). Championship meet details (parking, traffic flows, where our team goes at the pool, etc.) will be sent separately to registered swimmers’ parents.
How to sign up
- It is equally important to know that you will be there, or that you will not be there! Please follow these steps either way.

- Go to the Meets and Events tab.
- Click Signup Calendar
- All meets are open.
- First, click the green Meet Entry button.
- Your child will be “undeclared.” Click Edit. Choose “attending this meet” or “not attending this meet.” Click Save.
- Notes: if you have time constraints or unique requests, please put them in the notes.
VOLUNTEER REQUEST:
Our Malo volunteers did a fantastic job! Please join the volunteer crew for this last dual-meet and make it the easiest one yet.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to this meet. I am moving next week and it’s just not possible for me to do it all. I am really sorry to miss it, but I will see everyone who can make it at the party Tuesday evening!
How to volunteer:
- IF YOUR SWIMMER IS ENTERED IN THE MEET, after you register your swimmer, click the green Job Signup button. Choose a job. We need everyone to volunteer. :)
- See this link for job descriptions. If you like to interact more directly with kids, or you want to be with your swimmer, choose bullpen parent. If you like to be in charge, choose deck manager. If you’d rather keep the stats, choose timing, recording, computer manager, or place judge.
- Upon arriving at the meet pool, you will check in with the volunteer sign-in person. They will provide an overview of the volunteer duties and let you know where your station is located.
- There is always a timing meeting at the beginning of each meet. Coaches from our team (or the other one if necessary) will explain the roles if you don’t know them.
If you have volunteered, you know how it works: volunteers make swim meets happen. It is fun! You have to try it to like it.
FAQ
- Who chooses what events my child will swim? Coaches choose swimmer’s races. You can expect that each swimmer will do two individual events and two relays (only 1 relay for 5-6 year olds).. The only exceptions allowed are when there is a very small number of swimmers in an age group. This is typically the case only with our older groups (i.e. 15 and up).
- Swimtopia says “Start: 6:00 PM.” When do we need to be there? We ask that families be at the meet pool by 5:00 PM at the latest.
- How much time do I have to declare my swimmers? Each week, meet registration closes on Saturdays at 12 PM. I’lll send a reminder when the deadline is getting close.
- What is the schedule? This is our one and only MONDAY meet. The party at the Grant Park Gateway is Tuesday. The final practice is Wednesday. The ASA Championship is THURSDAY, 6/27.
Let me know what questions you have!

Martha
