Pre-Registration Open

Hello! Pre-registration for the Glenwood Park Piranhas Swim Team will open 3/14/2026 and close at midnight on March 24 All interested families should complete the interest form:

https://forms.gle/cVZwdept21RpKZnQ9

This will be your chance to let us know that you are interested in being on the team, and it will give us an idea of how many families are interested in registering. No spots on the team will be allocated and no payment will be taken during this pre-registration period.

From March 25 to March 30, we will be notifying families if they have spots on the team. Families will have 48 hours to complete registration after being notified. A waitlist will be established after April 1 for any families that were not able to register.

How spots on the team will be allocated

For those who pre-register, we will consider the following criteria when allocating spots on the team:

Glenwood Park Pool Members.

Previous Participation.

Volunteer Participation. Parents are expected to volunteer during meets. There are also opportunities to volunteer during practices.

Adherence to Piranha Code of Conduct & Adherence to Glenwood Park Pool Rules. https://docs.google.com/document/d/11uQiFJRAgtgnRQNTpvudycvoU8zzCDJf5clqXjmJhZs/edit?usp=sharing

Age group needs. The team has limited use of the Glenwood Park Pool and to ensure safety, there are limited spots available. We anticipate higher demand for spots is high in the 7-12 age range.

Things to consider when pre-registering

Some observations from 2025 season to take into consideration:

Practices in May and Saturday morning practices tend to be COLD. The pool is heated, but we lost many of our youngest swimmers during this time because they are freezing. By the end of May, the air is warmer and the swim team is much more fun.

Swim meets are loud and chaotic. Some children find the meets overstimulating and stressful. You know your swimmer best, so please consider if this environment will be too overwhelming for them.

Swimmers ages 5-10 should be able to swim 1 length (25 yards/meters) of the pool independently; swimmers ages 11 and up must be able to swim 1-2 lengths (individual meet races are 2 lengths)

We are still finalizing the team fees, practice start date and practice schedule. A small increase in fees is expected. The first day of practice will likely be the first Saturday in May. The practice schedule should be similar, but we may need to make minor changes to balance the number of swimmers in each practice group. For reference, here is last year’s info: Swim Team Infomation

We are excited for another fast and fun Season! Go Piranhas!
